Family Vacation 2013

Hello World!

 Monkey, Ladybug, Dad K and I washed the car the day before we left to go camping while Mom prepared breakfast burritos, egg sandwiches, chicken macaroni salad, pasta salad, granola, and cooked the Sloppy Joe meat to eat at our campsites. We also gave our puppies baths.

Mom filled the cooler up with the food and then we packed up the car and pulled out of the driveway at 8 am. We dropped our little puppies off at Aunt J and Uncle D's house, they puppy-sat them and then Grandma M took them until we came back home. Then we headed to Four Corners. For lunch we had chicken macaroni salad at a picnic area and we got to Four Corners just before they closed.

After Four Corners, we headed to a KOA and we slept in a teepee! Dad put the Sloppy Joe meat, cheese and buns in the Dutch Oven and while Dad K was watching Monkey, Ladybug and me play on the playground while Mom was watching the food. Then we went to our picnic table and ate our dinner. After dinner we made S'mores for dessert with cookies that already had chocolate on them. We just added the marshmallows.

For breakfast we had Breakfast Burritos that Mom had premade and froze at home and the owners of KOA let use their microwave to reheat the Burritos. When we were done eating we cleaned up the teepee and went to Mesa Verde National Park. We saw some cliff dwellings, a park ranger let Ladybug where his hat, we got to look inside a Kiva and Ladybug, Monkey and I became Junior Rangers.

 After the Park we drove to New Mexico and stayed at a KOA in our tent. For lunch we had some pasta salad and hard boiled eggs. Because of New Mexico's fires and the wind we were unable to have a fire. In the middle of the night, Mom was awoken, very rudely, by the wind pushing the tent sides into her face. At 4 in the morning mom threw us into the car along with all of our stuff into the car while Dad K and Mom got the tents down and packed up before the wind got them. We got out of the campground around 5 am. We had at a McDonalds. At 8 am Mom called the KOA we would be staying at and upgraded our tent to a cabin. We drove through Texas and most of Oklahoma. We camped at the East Oklahoma City KOA and even had time to swim, Mom did some laundry and she taught Ladybug, Monkey and I how to play UNO and Skip-Bo. For Dinner we had a foil dinner with hamburger meat, carrots, potatoes and onions. We also had Dutch Oven Monkey Bread for dessert, we ate it all gone!

 We had Egg Sandwiches that we had premade we warmed them up in the KOA microwave, they had 2 cute dogs that looked very healthy. Then we packed up and headed through Arkansas to Missouri. For lunch we snacked on snacks we had in the car we arrived at the resort around 4. We pulled in right behind a fire truck and next to Aunt M and Grandma and Grandpa W. They said that the smoke alarms in the building were going off and that it was a false alarm. The firemen were really nice and let Monkey and Ladybug climb in the fire truck. Before dinner we got a little pool time with cousins we had pizza with all of our family. It was nice to sleep in a real bed and have a nice hot shower.

My cousins, some Aunts, some Uncles, Grandma W and I drove Go-Karts. After riding in a go-kart I decided I would have had more fun going mini-golf with Monkey, Ladybug, Dad K and Mom. While Dad K and Mom were mini-golfing with my siblings they got to watch a helicopter take off and land multiple times nearby. Monkey and Ladybug really enjoyed golfing. As they finished up golfing they got to see Papa W and Cousin M and Cousin J going on a really fast "swinging zip-line"
After  Ladybug saw them do that she says to Mom, "I want to try that!" Mom said when your older.

After the day of the Mini Golfing and Go-Karts, we went to Silver Dollar City Amusement Park with some of our family. After we got back to the resort some of us went swimming, we did a family dinner, some family sports w/ a football, soccer ball and frisbee and we also did some family photos, Grandpa W's Birthday Slideshow some games and a party. After the party, Cousin C, her friend and I went swimming in the inside swimming pool next to the outdoor swimming pool. Then in the morning we said 'bye' after we had our last breakfast with some of the family and headed to the KOA and spent the night in a cabin that Mom called for in Oklahoma. Then we had chicken and cheese tortillas we also had Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler.

We got up and got going and we stopped at McDonald's for breakfast around 10 am. We saw some smoke around Albuquerque from one of the fires in the state. We pulled into the New Mexico KOA campground around 3 pm. It was really HOT and windy! We put up the tent and then headed into town to find a restaurant with some air conditioning. We found a Denny's and we found out that their A/C was broken. We ate dinner, Mom let Ladybug and I have Ice-cream. We ate kinda fast because it was starting to melt. Then we headed to the Wal-Mart that was right next door to the Denny's. We got cooled off, then we got the ice and went back to the campground. When we got there, we took a family vote on who wants to go and who wants to stay. Monkey and Ladybug wanted to stay because they wanted to play at the park so after we decided on what we were gonna do, Mom took us to the park and we played there while Mom and Dad K packed up the tent and then came and got us and then we drove home. On the way home we passed through a town that we've been to before and Mom told us a story about it since Ladybug and Monkey were not born at the time and I did not remember it.

When we got to Snowflake, we saw the temple where Aunt B and Uncle R got married and Dad P and I got locked in a dark room while we were talking about how I should get along with my cousin Z and then because one of my cousins accidentally locked all 3 doors that would lead us out. We were trying to find a way out and then we eventually got out through the door that led to outside where my cousin Z and I talked and finally got along again. It is really hard for us to get along, mostly all the time we start fighting and then we have to be separate then we talk and get along. Then after that Flash-back was gone, I saw a building that was familiar and I had a Flash-back of having an after-party there and playing some games and talking with Z my cousin and eating cake, then getting into the car and falling asleep and then I woke up in my bed in our condo to the smell of pancakes and sausage. After those 2 Flash-backs were gone, I went to sleep and did not wake up 'til we got to the gas station.

We pulled in our driveway and mom unloaded us and Dad K got the cooler. Mom put the kids to bed and Dad K unpacked the cooler. Then they brought everything in from the car and dumped it in the living room and went to bed. We woke up at 7:30 and unpacked and put everything away, other than the laundry we were finished by 10 am. Grandma M brought the puppies home around noon and then we went back to our normal lives and then I had to start getting ready for Girls Camp!
