Girls Camp ~ 2013

Hello World!

A couple weeks ago I went to Girl's Camp!

On Tuesday, the first day of Girl's Camp, Mom drove me to the Church with all my camping stuff in the trunk. When everybody was all packed up and ready to go, we got in the cars and drove off. We arrived at camp at 11:20 and we set up tents, ate our lunches, did roll call and ate dinner. Then we set up our beds and then we went to sleep. At 1:00 in the morning one of our leaders screamed because there was a mouse in the tent that our leaders were sleeping in.  They called for the priesthood and then they drove over to the priesthood and asked them to come over to our tents.

Wednesday morning one of the leaders told us the story and said, "I felt something in the middle of the night and I told the other leader that something was in the tent and then I yelled, 'We need the Priesthood! Then we drove over to the priesthood camp and asked them to come over to the camp and kill the mouse. Then the priesthood came over to our camp with a shovel and killed the mouse and it was messy." When she was done telling the story, we went and did our roll-call, breakfast, then we went back to the stage to split into groups. We went to the zip-line first, it was my first time and it was fun and also really fast! Then we did the Tomahawk throw which was also fun! Then we did the bow and arrows. My friend got three arrows in the middle, two arrows stuck in the cliff side and two in the dirt. I got one on the board and six in the dirt. Then we did a Ward picture, lunch, Ward Time, Dinner, scripture time and then Light's out.

Thursday we went on a hike and got showers. We had breakfast on the go during our hike. When we got back to the camp we did roll call. When the 4th years arrived we went to our campsite to set up a tent for them. Then they set up their stuff. Next, we went to the stage, had roll call, sang some songs, had dinner, singing tree and then went back to camp talked a little. Then we did a little hike to the stage that was set up like a Temple and then we went to our camp site and read scriptures till light's out.

Friday we woke up, ate breakfast, had roll call, sang songs, ate breakfast, went to the stage, split off into the wards, and had tunnel ball race. Bishop surprised us in the middle of us trying to get the ball to the bucket. Next, we did a Ward picture and then we went to the stage and sang songs. Then we went to the dining area and served the food. My friend and I served the drinks and lots of people that came to get a drink asked us if we were twin sisters and we said, "Nope, just best friends." Then we went back to our camp and had Ward Time. Then we went to the stage did skits and then went to camp and read scriptures till light's out after we did our testimonies.

Saturday we packed up our stuff, cleaned our tents, packed up out campsite, went to the stage to do a prayer, then we waited 20 or 30 minutes to leave because a girl had to leave with her family to go to the Hospital because she was really sick. Then we all got into our cars and we headed out through the gates and back to Coolidge we went! YAY!

I had a great time and can't wait to go back next year as a 3rd year!
